With heavy hearts, we honor the life of Bobby A. Wilson, who passed away at the age of 60 after a courageous 14-month battle with glioblastoma. A devoted husband, father, grandfather (Pappy), brother, friend, and coach, Bobby’s impact on the lives of those around him was immeasurable. He leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Bobby had the privilege of being a coach that guided and mentored young men and women in softball, baseball, and football. To him, one of his biggest achievements in life was making a difference in the lives of his players—helping them grow, learn, and succeed both on and off the field.
Beyond coaching, Bobby's life was defined by his deep love for his family and his unwavering passion for the Memphis Tigers. A lifelong fan, Bobby was a proud past member of the Highland Hundred, a long-time season ticket holder, and even helped tear down the goal post after the 1996 upset victory against the TN Vols. On game days, Bobby was always the first to arrive, opening his arms to friends and fellow fans alike. His perfect day was spent surrounded by his family and a close-knit group of Tiger fans, who became family.
Bobby's legacy is one of love, community, and dedication. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to live on through the countless lives he touched and the memories he created.
